  • foxfloof She shouldn't have snapped at you, but she's doing you a HUGE favor by hosting you. Don't like her attitude, then leave, I guess. Getting food and lodging for free while doing nothing in return is not the spirit of Malicious Compliance.

  • series-hybrid I'm glad it worked out for you. However, you didn't mention if she was having trouble at her work or in her relationships with her husband and kids. You may want to stay at her house, but if you can afford to stay at a hotel that may have been a better choice.

  • What I'm saying is that...if you NEED to stay with her, you also need to cut her some slack. So she snapped at you. Put on your big-girl pants and stop demanding that other people respect you simply because you feel you deserve it. Maybe you

  • do deserve respect, I don't know. What I do know is that you wanted to teach her a lesson, when you were living in her home.

  • trev2234 I've always assumed that being a guest in someone's house for longer than a few hours, means you help out. couldn't imagine just doing nothing, while they do everything for me. Sounds like you should've gone to a hotel.
